Seriously guy.. Get real

so I've only shared this story with maybe 2 people

and each time, I get the same reaction.

"UGGHH.. seriously?"

so here it goes.

Friday night Whit and I went to Drakes.

I seriously hadn't been out in Lex in forever

and I just had to! 

{so I thought}

this is one of those nights everything was just off.

right before going out I realized, 

I would be completely satisfied staying home.

But I pulled it together 

{wore my hott new red heels} 

and we headed out.

The last two times I've been to drakes I've seen everyone I didn't want to.

No really!

this used to happen to me when I was in college at Two Keys.

You know the same people who always see you not at your best 

who know way to much about you

and could potentially black mail you at any time.

well yepp, that is the crew I saw

But this night. 

guys had the strangest approach on hitting on me.

I am not sure if the heels were screaming something I didn't know 

or what..

but listen to these stories:

situation #1:

guy: Hey girl! how you dooooinnnG?

me: i'm okay.. (slowly)

guy: are you wearing flower bomb?

me: yes

guy: are your shoes new?

me: yes.

guy: is that a Michael Kors watch?

me: yes

guy: can I guess your bra size?

me: umm. I guess {intrigued to be honest}

guy: 34 B.

me: NOPE

*that was the end of the conversation.

He was so off from my bra size it makes me feel

half way good and half way bad.

I really didn't get puzzled about this till the next morning? 

what the hell?*

situation #2:

{I'm standing at the bar. talking to a friend}

guy: hey girl.. will u order me a Hennessy and coke?

me: NO. 

guy: why? I'd pay you for it..

me: not the point. the bar is right there. 

guy: (smiles.) I'd rather you do it

I WALK OFF

*what the hell? can you not order your own drink now?

I don't know you from adam and you want me to order you drink? 

not to mention the whole time he has is arm around a girl.

why can't she order you a drink?*

situation #3:

{as I am walking out}

guy: hey girl.. 

me: hello

guy: where you and your red heels sleeping tonight?

me: you can't be serious..

I WALK OFF AGAIN

*what the hell? that's all I can say.

where these dudes come from?

I will never know*

so this a post dedicated to all you bachelors out there.

classy girls don't fall for this business and if they do.

then you don't want them 

because they probably aren't on the classy side.

let's act like I just didn't go there..  

ANYWAY.. 

now that I have embarrassed my self.. 

I just HAVE to tell you a couple of things...

this is a real conversation between my mother and I

YESTERDAY

Me: Mom, you know how people used to join book clubs?

Mom: Yes.. where they get a different book and read it every month?

Me: Yeah! Well, I didn't do that.. but instead I joined a SHOE club!

Mom: WHAT?

Me: Mom, a shoe club. It's fantastic. You pay a small fee every month and you pick out a different shoe EVERY MONTH

{obviously I am referring to shoe dazzle for all you lovely ladies.

but remember, this is my mom.. 

she just isn't aware}

Mom: that's just crazy to me. What in the world are you going to do with them all?

Me: WEAR THEM?

I hope you all think this is as funny as I do!

She then went on to say, 

"we will have to buy you some kind of organizer to hang on a spare wall just for shoes.."

{my reference.. Oh, kinda like a wine rack but for shoes?} 

(she loved that)

her next comment was:

"When your ready to buy a house, I think you should buy a 3 bedroom. 

one for you.

one for your guests.

and one for you clothes and shoes"

{sad part. I think that sounds like A GREAT idea!?}

(I wish when I typed that it instantly turned in a glitter font!)

Yesterday I also..   

slipped away from work on my lunch break

{usually I eat here. at the office. so I can be available}

to the nail salon with WHIT (just in case you wanna check her out)

we took the Pink Lou Lou's advice and went to Aphrodite.

{20% off.. hello?}

I must say. it was great.

I want to go back now and get a pedi!

Today...

is finally Friday!

{oh yeah, we already talked about that}

I had to leave this little girl at home sleeping tight..

but about 10:45 I got this delivered to my back office

{yepp,that's right, my friends}

they opened a new one on Moore drive.

which is close to the office

so they brought samples by today!!

spreading that JJ love.

this afternoon I will be closing up the office

because everyone has a homecoming celebration for their kids.

and then I will be heading to etown to see mi madre 

in person.

This is going to be a random post if I have ever seen one..

BUTTTT>> It's FINALLLYY FRIDDAYY!!

I wish that they would play that song in my office over and over on Friday's (maybe I would get sick of it?)

But I don't feel like I would today!

So today, well I take that back, this week has been CRAZZY!!

Seriously. At this point, somehow my house is clean but my dog hates me because I haven't been home..

Like any.. well maybe, to put some food in her bowl and go to  bed (don't tell the puppy people.. I really do love her)

Work has been busy which is good, and all my organizations have been meeting

plus with friends, social time, workouts, errands, UK basketball, I mean come on.. you get the PICTURE!

I have been running a marathon..

So here it goes RANDOM THOUGHTS

1. It it 11/11/11 which means 2 things: 1 it is Veterans Day. I respect every THING about the troops (past and present) and appreciate EVERYTHING they do for us. But it is also my old roommates Birthday! You know the girl that I discussed here: roommate She has talked about this birthday. for like EVER

And I am so glad it is finally here and I get to celebrate with her. She is not the party type (which is hard to believe she put up with me) but she is a great time!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALI BESS!

2. I heard on Millionaire Matchmaker (so it has to be true, right?) that 80% of people meet their significant other on their day to day routine. SOO. This week I have been inspired to look cute everyday. When anyone else asks me I tell them I am "dressing for success" baha.. That too but if the man of my dreams walks in wanting insurance, I won't  be sad. BELIEVE THAT!!

But yesterday, I got in a funk, it isn't just me. My girlfriends do it too and unless you are just some kind of crazy diva you do too. The day you wake up, when the week has hit you and you can't find anything you think looks good on you and you wish, just ONE day you could wear sweatpants to work??! (don't lie now)

YESTERDAY I WAS THE WINNER!! I tried on at least 10000 dresses or pants and about 300 shirts. (obviously sarcastic) but my closet looks like I did.. and I still came up with nothing..

So I wore the basic khaki pant, and a button up navy and white shirt that had some ruffles around the top. Sounds cute right? Well, NO! I've recently lost a little weight and this shirt must have been purchased on another bad day or when I was elephant size. Either way: it was large and loose and so were my pants.

I seriously looked like Rosie O'Donnell.. Totally not hating on her. But just saying, not typical for me.

I had to go home and change as soon as my appointment left before my meeting because I looked

RIDICULOUS and felt the same way!! WHATEVER

I made it up for it today with shorts and tights and boots! :) love this new thing!

3. Weekend plans? Why, Yes thank you for asking!! :)

As mentioned I am going to celebrate with the birthday girl at a early dinner (like 4:30 early) at Miyako (Japanese place here in LEX).

Then I will be heading downtown to work at the Junior League Annual Holly Day Market!!

COME OUT AND SHOP!! Everything looks so cute!!

I am taking advantage of my own tickets tomorrow and making it a family thing and going out there!!

I plan on buying some CUUUTTTEE stuff for my girls and getting that holiday shopping at least started..

After that I plan on watching the game with some beverages or going to meet back up with the birthday girl

(depending on what she does)

TOMORROW: (DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!) I am going to SLEEP IN!

That's right, folks! No alarm. No phone. No nothing!

 JUST ME & SLEEP

Can you tell I am excited? Because I am!!

Then the fam is coming into town. We are going to the Holly Day Market and shop around Lexington for awhile. I am sure we will celebrate happy hour and have dinner @ Nick Ryan's later in the night.

I am excited to see the fam. Spend some quality time with them!

4. WHY IS IT SO COLD? I mean seriously.. This morning I jumped up out of bed.. or how about,

"When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash"

HAHA No not exactly.. But I did hear a noise about 5 AM (PS> like my Christmas spirit?)

Once it woke me, I realized I needed to go to the restroom.

After laying back down for about 15 min I realized there was no hope for me going back to sleep

So I just got up! to Stay up!

I did some grooming things (as my brother calls them) like shower and all that..

Then I got on the couch and started to watch the CMA's.

I got so hooked that I decided to bring my straightener in the living room so I could get ready and watch (sing & dance).

Which was a BAD idea. Somehow, I got up 2 hours early and I was still almost LATE.

CRAZY RIGHT?

So I rushed out to my car to find my window FROSTED over..

Is this real? Like wasn't it 65 the other day? WOW!

Don't worry friends, I drove with it on there.

OH WELL!

5. CRAZY- why are people so crazy? like seriously. Legit they are crazy.

It has been a full moon and every crazy person in the 300 mile radius of the office has called.

I mean that seriously too.

I see the crazy people at the gas station, or at the Walgreen's. everywhere!!

WATCH OUT MY FRIENDS

I am.. I know that . for werewolves. (that's for sure!!) HAHA

6. The one night I had free. My girls and I decided to go to the fireman reveal of their calender.

You bring a toy or 10 dollar donation and get in.

And then they have a little show, and then meet and greet.

It was a good time.

Sex and the City?

My friend Becca pointed it out and now I totally agree.

All four of us just sitting there, sipping on our drinks and judging all the meat around us.

Don't get to jealous though girls, the ratio of married to unmarried wasn't looking too good!

It was fun tho! and a good cause! 2 points for me!

7. Last night I went to the mall  for operation: get Ali a gift.

which I succeeded. No worries.

But when I have an operation that means that it is serious.

No browsing unless on target.

However, last night I got a text leaving my meeting that Forever 21 was opening and EVERYTHING was on sale. did you hear me? EVERYTHING!

I drove to the mall trying to talk myself into all the reasons that I SHOULD go look.

but guess what? I DIDN'T

I am proud. to say the least.

I have a serious shopping addiction. and last night I WON

Thank goodness.. because my parents might consider not having an intervention now..

Well that's it today guys.. sorry so random.. but that's me!!

Only one more appointment left. and ITS THE FREEAKING WEEKEND BABY!!

What a Weekend..

It is Monday Night at 6:15 PM and I have just found my way to the shower and off of the couch that I have been on since I woke up at 11:30 AM. I think that burst of motivation came from the fact that I am supposed to meet my brother for dinner at 7:30. Luckily for me (and you guys) while blogging there isn't a camera because I am still in my towel from the shower. (I know, I am ridiculous with this amount of laziness)

Needless to say I had an AMAZING weekend. My friends are a good time and we rocked it out!! Friday after work I had a boy visitor stop by for some good Quality Time before I was heading out. Which totally made my day better because after work and other BS I was more than ready for a good time and the weekend. I headed out with Katie & Becca about 9:30 and headed to the Penguin. But not before I had my quality dinner!!

I know right, I am way to old to make a decision like that (everyone knows you need a good base) but I did! The Penguin was fun though. I focused my time on flirting with a guy that works there (until I stood up in my pumps and was towering over him) I quickly got distracted and decided to focus on my $2.00 flavored vodkas and sprites. Maybe it was the price but the group we were with just kept buying drinks for us all. Needless to say I had a good time there!!

Saturday I woke up and went to the pool. It was so hott outside that I couldn't imagine being any where else but splashing around in the water!! Surprisingly there was a good group of people out there (younger) and KT & Becca & I spent our time gossiping the afternoon away. I was over the pool about 4:30 and decided to head to Chic Filet for a 1/2 tea and a grilled chicken salad. I finally ordered and waited in line to open my purse and realize that I had left my debit card and all the cash I had in my jeans pocket from the night before. This was the first time in a long time I felt like I was the definition of FML.  Embarrassing enough at Chic Filet you can't just get out of line because of the curbs that surround the line, so I got to the window, begged the manager to take a check, or let me tell him my debit card number (I know, its scary I have it memorized..) Both options were denied and I was sent driving home without my tea or salad. EMBARRASSING to say the least.

Saturday night I went over to my brothers house to head out with his friends. I though it was only fitting to pick up a bottle of "Little Black Dress" wine for all the guys. Surprisingly enough they drank it before heading out! :) (or maybe my brother and I drank it) I had the slightest hesitance to head out with my brother and 3 of his best friends but I had a GREAT time!! We went to Tin Roof where I haven't been in awhile either. It was a good time with very nice scenery (ladies, you know what I'm talking about) Not to mention I found this while in the bathroom: (not sure why it is so blurry, it's not on my phone)



"If you can't keep him, you don't need him! and if I can't get my own I sure as hell don't need yours"



After Tin Roof we headed to the pavilion and ended up in Wildcat Saloon. Which for 1. why in the world is it soo hott in there? Crazy   2. What is the theme of it because I don't get it?

But yet another random event takes place where a guy calls me over and has a drink he bought for me. The conversation went like this. (and no I am not lying)

Me: Thanks for the drink!

Unknown: Your welcome! I just wanted you to know I bought this for you because you have beautiful eyes! What is your name?

Me: Megan and thank you! What is your name?

Unknown: It doesn't matter..

Me: ... okay? well what is this drink?

Unknown: That doesn't matter either... But have a good night Megan and take care of your self

(Unknown walks out of the door)

Totally Weird! and I know what you all are thinking.. Yes, I drank it. No, I don't think he slipped something in it but I don't know? haha! My brother thinks he might be trying to pull a "Hitch" or something but I have no idea either way his game was horrible and if I ever saw him again I would run the other way.

Sunday after swearing I wouldn't do anything Becca talked me into putting my party pants on for one more night and head to Suttons for some grub and then Grapevine (which I usually hate) Suttons was great as usual but we ran while we could when a party of 160 were about to walk in from K-State. Anyone who has worked in the Service Industry still cringes at that situation.

Grapevine was actually a good time!! Becca and I met KT and her roommates there. Suddenly by the end of the night we were having shots bought for us and getting to know everyone in the bar. Needless to say I think I could go there again after that experience. It was a good time and somehow we finally left about 3:30 AM... Ridiculous I know..

Which leaves me here today.. with no motivation barely making it off the couch! I am heading to dinner with my brother and after that I plan on getting ready for bed early and resting for my work week!! Wish I could leave with you some pictures but somewhere in the middle of all this I forgot to take any! (I know, I am working on that)
